Solidarity with the Ukrainian people!

We must no longer tolerate russian war crimes. The German federal government must do everything in its power to prevent this genocide against the Ukrainian people. Therefore, we demand:
- Heavy and modern offensive weapons for Ukraine!
- An immediate energy embargo against russia!
- The exclusion of russia from the UN and the G20!
For more than a month now, Ukraine has been resisting a russian war of aggression. This war has meanwhile developed into an open war of annihilation. putin’s butchers are not only committing countless war crimes, but also genocide against the Ukrainian people. This genocide corresponds to the kremlin’s goal of erasing the Ukrainian nation. It is carried out deliberately, systematically, and methodically. The destruction of the city of Mariupol and the massacres in numerous towns in the greater Kyiv area, such as Bucha, Irpin, Motyzhyn, and Borodianka, are just a few examples. The images of these atrocious crimes recall the worst atrocities of the 20th century in Europe. It must be assumed that such atrocities are taking place in all territories occupied by russia. Ideologues of the putinist regime are now even openly announcing a genocide against the Ukrainian population.
If NATO is not to intervene militarily in the war, then the only forces capable of stopping these atrocities and preventing a possible genocide are the Ukrainian Armed Forces. However, these forces are still not being sufficiently supported by Europe, especially by Germany. Despite the “turning point” announced by Chancellor Scholz, a misguided pacifism prevails in Germany, claiming that there can be “no military solution” to the war. In reality, the only solution is a military victory by Ukraine over the russian invading army. Meanwhile, the balance of military power has shifted sufficiently in Ukraine’s favor that such a victory now seems possible. The timing is currently favorable, as the russian army is regrouping after its defeat in the battle for Kyiv and shifting the focus of its attack to eastern Ukraine.
However, for a final victory in the war, Ukraine needs heavy and modern offensive weapons. Germany must advocate for the delivery of these weapons or, where possible, supply them itself. Otherwise, it would not only share responsibility for the war crimes and genocide committed by russia, but also for letting the opportunity for a Ukrainian victory slip away. Unfortunately, part of the German population is also engaging in hypocritical solidarity with Ukraine. They oppose “war” in the abstract and call for “peace,” but are not in favor of arms deliveries to Ukraine or are even against them. This, however, means advocating for Ukraine’s capitulation, because the Ukrainian army is inferior to the russian one and can only win with military support from the “West.” Therefore, this cannot be about peace at any price, but only about peace through Ukraine’s victory.
The war in Ukraine is not putin’s war alone. It is not putin personally who commits the war crimes and genocide against the Ukrainian people. It is russian soldiers who commit these barbaric crimes – soldiers for whom the German chancellor expresses sympathy. Despite all the difficulties of conducting opinion polls in a dictatorship like russia, we must no longer ignore the fact that a significant part of the russian population stands behind putin and willingly supports this war. Responsibility for this war therefore lies not with putin alone, but with everyone who does not oppose these crimes, who supports them, or who commits them. A Ukrainian victory would, in fact, be in the interest of the russian population as well, as it would open the possibility of freeing themselves from the putinist dictatorship.
Ultimately, Ukraine’s struggle is not only a Ukrainian matter, but a matter for the entire “West,” as it is a struggle against the putinist regime as an enemy of the free, democratic world. Therefore, it is also in Germany’s interest to preserve Ukraine as an independent country, because it forms a protective barrier between democratic Europe and dictatorial russia. It is our duty to finally push the German government toward comprehensive sanctions so that the financial lifeline funding russia’s war of annihilation is cut off at last. Germany in particular must do everything to prevent future war crimes, instead of co-financing them through the purchase of russian natural gas and oil.
The horrific war crimes and the genocide – which comes close to the genocide already announced by the russian side against the Ukrainian people – must now urgently be followed by consequences.
Therefore, we demand:
- Heavy and modern offensive weapons for Ukraine!
- An immediate energy embargo!
- russia out of the UN and the G20!
