#10 Café Ukraїna: talk with historian Dr. Sven Jaros

Café Ukraїna #10 is dedicated to historical topics: on May 14 at 6:00 PM, a talk with Dr. Sven Jaros, historian at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, will take place at the Polish Institute. Dr. Jaros has been researching the history of East(-Central) Europe in the late Middle Ages and the early modern period for many years.

In conversation with activist and historian Alexandra Kolesnikova (née Kenig), Dr. Jaros will provide insights into the work of German historians of Eastern Europe in the context of russia’s war of aggression. Together, they will explore how historical facts can be used to counter anti-Ukrainian propaganda myths surrounding the origins and history of Ukraine.

The audience is warmly invited to participate in the discussion with questions. As always, there will be an opportunity afterward for exchange and discussion in a relaxed atmosphere with snacks and drinks.
